How Indiely handles data, checks and estimates.

Indiely separates public source facts, local browser checks, community responses and planning assumptions. The product does not present third-party estimates as official Steam sales data or promise commercial performance.

What the page analyzer reads

The public scan uses a Steam App ID to request information already exposed by the public Steam storefront, such as title, developer, publisher, genres, descriptions, pricing fields, capsule artwork and screenshots when available. It never asks for Steam or Steamworks credentials.

Public source fields can be missing, delayed, region-dependent or temporarily unavailable. Indiely shows missing data as unavailable instead of silently turning it into zero.

Checks and guidance

Rules are tied to visible criteria.

Artwork

Dimension and aspect-ratio checks use current public Steamworks asset guidance. A technical pass does not judge whether creative work will attract players.

Descriptions and tags

Local checkers flag observable structure, duplication and clarity issues. They do not generate fake search volume, ranking or quality scores.

Planning calculators

Wishlist and revenue tools use values supplied by the user. Results are scenarios, not forecasts, financial advice or expected earnings.

Third-party market context

SteamSpy owner, playtime and related fields are third-party estimates. When present, they are labeled by source. Indiely does not describe them as official Valve data and does not infer a precise sales number from an unavailable field.

Community tests

A/B tests and shelf responses summarize the participants who saw that test. They can guide another creative iteration, but they are not representative market research unless the developer controls recruitment and sample design.

Search and privacy

Public game pages require a deliberate choice.

Private workspace projects are not automatically added to search. A game page is eligible for the public SEO catalog only when the owner publishes a showcase, explicitly allows search indexing and provides enough public information to avoid an empty page. Unpublished or incomplete pages are excluded or marked noindex.

The description, tag and screenshot mini tools run in the browser. Their entered text and selected images are not uploaded by those pages. Account and project storage practices are described in the privacy policy.

Use the tools with their limits visible.
